Rinehart Exhaust on Nightster
Richard asked: I have a new Nightster that I bought recently and I wished that I had the dealer install pipes on it right when I got it. I love the bike but the stock sound just doesn't cut it. I thought I could live with it but I was wrong.....I really want to change the pipes. I can't afford to spend big bucks right now so I am thinking about slip ons....do they sound as good as the full systems??
I've heard good things about the Rinehart slip ons.....but I have never heard what they sound like on a Nightster...just on a softail or a touring bike. Will they sound the same?
Our Answer
Hey Richard..nice choice in motorcycles. Harley hit a homerun when they introduced the Nighster....I love em. I did some poking around and found a video that has Rinehart Slip On mufflers on a Nightster...check it out and see if you think these fit the bill. I think they look and sound great.....the best part about a slip on is that they are usually a piece of cake to install compared to a full system and you can probably get by without a reflash.

That may be true about bikes, I personally don’t know, BUT I do know that hooker makes the all time best headers for cars!

rineharts are the best sounding and performing pipes made. yea they cost alot, maybe not so much for the slip ons but the full exhaust cost alot. warning for people that want new pipes DO NOT GET HOOKER HEADER EXHAUST. they suckkkkkkkk. they are a waste of money. i got mine and they fell apart a year later and they changed sounds ever week.

What’s a HD download? I have an ‘08 nightster and I’m thinking about new pipes. Your sound hot. I’ve heard most slip-ons don’t require tuning or remapping, but the Harley dealership says they do. What do you think? and again, what’s an HD download? Thanks and ride safe and free

I did the HD download. The pipes have only gotten better with time, no change in color.
February 13th, 2009 at 6:17 am
did you have to do a remap to run those pipes? and if not, has your pipes changed color.

I’m not a big fan of loud exhausts. I have an 07 Nightster with the stock exhaust, but whoa momma!! That sounds AWESOME! Now I don’t know what to think! Go Nightsters!
